JOSIE FIELD LIVE AT ZULA

TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

Aside from having two radio hits with her first two singles, Josie Field is a captivating, spiritual young soul on stage – she sings her heart out with a passion, that would impress any skeptic or creative, whether playing her original material from her debut album ‘Mercury’ or entertaining with her choice of eclectic but well presented popular covers she is highly entertaining without being over-the top. Either as a full band presenting her Mercury album in it’s loose live guise or as a duo with her multi-talented side-kick Kevin Leicher (Arno Carstens, Chris Chameleon) in tow they deliver a full rich sound that is a fresh alternative to most other pop acts on the circuit at the moment. Josie’s songs sound like they come from a mature hand but her delivery in the live format is something to behold – sometimes tender and beautiful and at others scary with honesty.

Josie’s success at radio and critical acclaim at media; 2 #1 Hit singles, two #1’s on the 5fm hi4@5 and numerous praising reviews in the press have come off the back of well-written pop songs but Josie is certainly no pop-diva and onstage sings like an angel (or a woman scorned) and plays guitar like it’s an appendage she has been blessed with.
Her band, including Kevin Leicher, are young professionals who are the highly enthusiastic support base on which Josie’s builds and weaves her stories and melodies. Max Lehr her capable drummer is also a professional stage manager and keep’s the band in check both in performance and off-stage. South Africa truly has a new alternative pop performer in Josie Field, but as with most good things her engaging performance has to be experienced to be appreciated.
“Josie Field is my new hero. I love her. I love her. I love her. Her performance is enchanting, spiritual & magnificent. She is a world-class performer and one of the most exciting artists I have seen in years. If she is performing at a venue near you, it is imperative that you attend.” (Star Tonight – 6th March 2007)
….an honest & refreshing alternative on the SA Pop scene….
